Kristin Robbins Steps Back from Governor’s Race

State Representative Kristin Robbins has announced she is suspending her campaign for Governor, citing a decision made after much thought and prayer.
After eight years serving in the Minnesota House, Robbins made clear that her commitment to the state remains firm, even as her role evolves.
“Our state government and political system are broken,” Robbins said in her statement. “After fighting for Minnesotans from the inside for the past eight years, I have determined that the best way for me to fight for the future of our state is from the outside.”
Robbins’ campaign was built on a platform focused on confronting fraud, lowering taxes and energy costs, and addressing policies impacting Minnesota communities. Those priorities were not new—they reflected the core of her legislative work since first being elected in 2018.
As Chair of the Minnesota House Fraud and State Agency Oversight Committee, Robbins became one of the most prominent voices in the state addressing fraud and government accountability. Her work helped bring widespread attention to misuse of taxpayer funds and the need for stronger oversight systems.
But her leadership extended beyond a single issue. Throughout her tenure, Robbins advocated for responsible tax policy, supported efforts to strengthen whistleblower protections, contributed to higher education and workforce discussions, and played a role in shaping state budget priorities.
Her legacy is not defined solely by the offices she has sought, but by the issues she has elevated and the path she has helped create.
Leadership leaves a path—Kristin Robbins built one. And now, others step forward to carry it on.
As the state looks ahead, attention turns to the leaders who will carry that momentum forward. In SD37, candidates Tom McKee, Luke Doerer, and Brady Hoag are positioned to continue the hard work.
